Many people  have infrequent  heartburn and
occasionally their symptoms become severe. These
same people frequently also wonder, am I having a
heart attack?  Should I call 911 or is it just my
heartburn? If you are a
heartburn sufferer, these are
serious questions that need to be addressed.

So what are the symptoms of
Heartburn and more
importantly those of a real Heart Attack? Your
heartburn heart health is a serious matter. In general
the symptoms of a heart attack include:

  • Angina: Chest pain or discomfort in the center of
the chest; also described as a heaviness,
    tightness, pressure, aching, burning, numbness,
fullness or squeezing feeling that lasts for more
than a few minutes or goes away and comes
    back.
  • It is sometimes mistakenly thought to be
    indigestion or heartburn.
  • Pain or discomfort in other areas of the upper
body including the arms, left shoulder, back,
    neck, jaw, or stomach
  • Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath
  • Sweating or “cold sweat”
  • Fullness, indigestion, or choking feeling (may
    feel like “heartburn”)
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Light-headedness, dizziness
  • Extreme weakness or anxiety Rapid or irregular
    heart beats

If you have these symptoms for more than 5 minutes
you need to call 911 NOW. Do not call a friend or a
family member. This is an emergency and if you do
not want to die you better take action NOW.

If you have a burning in the chest just behind the
sternum or breastbone then it might be
heartburn.
Heartburn is usually associated with a heavy meal that
you had a short time before the pain became
apparent. If you are in touch with your body you may
feel the stomach juices or acid flow into your
esophagus. This irritates the lining of the esophagus
and causes the pain in your chest. As noted above
heartburn symptoms can be mistaken for a heart
attack.
Again if in doubt call 911. Heartburn Heart
Health
is not a joking matter.

It is interesting that a cardiologist friend of mine noted
that the eating habits of people who suffer from

heartburn
and those suffering from heart disease
appear to be similar. Eating a poor diet can lead to
both conditions.
Heartburn Heart Health is very
important to your overall health condition.

It appears that if you seek to reduce your
heartburn
you may be benefiting your heart as well.  Never take
your
heartburn heart health for granted.
